9913824_ss.jpgThank goodness it was Blaney on the bench during UCONN’S blowout 103 to 47 win over the Choo Choo’s from Chattanooga and not Coach Calhoun. I hate to be critical but, Jimbo looks like hell. Sick is more like it and I sincerely hope he’s doing what’s best for him and his family when he returns to the Wachovia Center this afternoon. There isn’t much I write about this game that hasn’t already been written  except, I TOLD YOU TO LAY THE POINTS  and that was despite most of my friends saying to take them!!! Moreover, every reason I gave you for laying the points just happened to be correct. Stanley scored again, Price had a big day, Adrien had a good day and the MOCS couldn’t measure up  inside with the Huskies. That block by Thabeet said it all. A  #16 has never beaten a #1 and that remains the case after round one of this Big Dance.

On another note, did you ever see a team shoot so poorly? The MOCS really stunk and it’s too bad they made it to the tournament instead of St. Mary’s, Penn State or another team that would have at least made it interesting.

So, are your brackets all blown to hell, like mine? My biggest disappointments came last night. Florida State and Wake Forrest really did me in. The day before, it was Clemson, Butler and West Virginia that made me look stupid. I did have Western Kentucky yet, seeing that I had West Virginia beating Kansas and Michigan in the next two rounds, that game was a triple loser.

Just so you all know, I do have UCONN in the final four. Moreover, I have all the top seeds advancing to the finals. As for who I think will win after that, I’ll share that with you once we get there. In the interim, enjoy these great games and try to sleep in late. Those overtime affairs last night took a toll on me but, it’s only once a year and it was definitely worth it. I had Siena yet, I didn’t want to see Wisconsin come back and beat the Seminoles.

I’m out of here! Sic Rick
