Gerry McNamara, aka “UCONN KILLER” was at the Garden last night and he most likely will be there again this evening, when the Orange take on the UCONN Huskies. Unfortunately for the Syracuse Orange, he isn’t playing and so they have little and possibly no shot of beating the Huskies. If tired legs aren’t enough to stop the Orange, Hasheem Thabeet, Jeff Adrien and A.J. Price will be. Lay the measly 3 1/2 points the odds makers have UCONN favored by and start spending the money this morning.

The Syracuse/Seton Hall skirmish may have ended late last night but, that is no excuse or reason for the bookies to fall asleep when making this line. Friends of mine thought it would be 10 or more and honestly, I thought a double digit line was not out of the question. Just like when they played at Gampel, the key will be Thabeet’s defensive, if not offensive domination in the paint. Additionally, we have to be sure to also guard those big three point shooters, Rautins and Devendorf, because Seton Hall did a poor  job of that last night. Flynn will again try to penetrate to help the outside shooters get some spacing yet, that didn’t work in the last meeting against UCONN and it won’t work tonight. Thabeet will see to that and the tired legs of the Orange will take care of the rest. Sure, this one should be close in the first half yet, just like the last game, UCONN, with Price and Walker leading the way, will pull away in the second half and while the Orange are bent over and sucking wind. That’s the thing I rememeber about the game they played at Gampel. I think we will win this one by at least 10 points and so again I say, “LAY THE POINTS”. Seton Hall actually kept last nights game close in the first half, but their tired legs and lack of inside bulk was their undoing after the break. Well, this is UCONN, not Seton Hall and so tonight, you can be sure Jimmy ‘THE WHINER” Boeheim, as well as his protege Mr. McNamara,will have that grimacing look on their faces tonight. Poor Jimmy has little hair on his head and games like this one only make matters worse.
