When the UCONN Woman have a job to do, you should know by now, they always get it done. Whether it’s shutting down an energetic and upset minded Tar Heel squad or simply deciding another teams best player is going to have her worst night, that’s what must keep this team motivated. Last night, knowing they couldn’t possibly lose to a lousy Marquette team, they decided that their leading scorer and best player was going to suffer the consequences that come along with playing the #1 and clearly best team in the nation. The result was an easy 83 to 49 victory for the Husky Ladies but, even more impressive was the fact that they easily put the clamps on Angel Robinson and to the extent she had to feel embarrassed about her nights work. Angel was a disgusting 0 for 11 from the field, only 1 point to show for the game and that is amazing considering, as recently as Feb. 3rd, this young lady had 30 against South Florida. Moore, Greene and Montgomery led the team offensively (22, 16 and 15) and Maya’s 10 rebounds gave her another double double. Please get us to March, not only for good weather but, regarding this team, some seriously needed competition.Next game is Wednesday and away against St. John’s. Needless to say, that should be another joke.
I’m out of here! Sic Rick!
